Veronika, based in Scotland, Balquidder, spent over 20 years working in London before eventually moving back home to Scotland in 2003 due to being diagnosed with M.S.

As a result of M.S Veronika has lost mobility in both her arms and legs but continues to make work by painting with her mouth and incorporating thick dried paint from old paint palettes.

Veronika’s distinctive style takes influence from various cultures and the vibrancy of soul music.

“I like my painting to be a form of communication and language itself. I want me work to resonate with the viewer on a primal and intuitive level. Good painting does not need endless explanation. My influences are organic, spontaneous and primitive art.”
