Untitled (rough hands)
Anodised aluminium, vinyl
900 x 600 x 1mm
William O’Donnell often works with the visual effects and qualities of anodised metal, primarily anodised aluminium, but also works in a range of mediums to explore the oceanic depth of memory via the articulation of the interstices between anxiety and disappointment, social and self-truths that can be found hidden away. In his work he seeks the situations or contexts that trigger a response in the viewer’s consciousness, what is it that we recall in that moment, and how are the connections between these recollections symptomatic of the human condition.
